Owen founded Brainard Capital Management, LLC, an SEC registered investment advisory firm, after working as a corporate finance attorney with one of the largest law firms in the world, and as a private wealth manager with global investment banks including Credit Suisse First Boston and UBS.

During his time on Wall Street, Owen covered domestic and offshore clients for the management of equity portfolios, global asset allocation strategies, and alternative investments including leveraged buy-out funds and hedge funds.  As a corporate finance attorney, he worked with two of the largest and most active venture capital investment funds in the U.S.

Owen received his B.A. from Middlebury College in Vermont, and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, where he served on the school's law review and earned several academic honors.

Robert oversees account management and multi-family office operations for Brainard Capital Management. Previously, Robert served as a corporate advisor with a private bank in Frankfurt, Germany where he specialized in investments for large family trusts, and as a mergers-and-acquisitions attorney for Siemens AG in Munich, Germany. Robert has also worked with Public Strategies, Inc., a leading public affairs firm based in Austin, Texas, handling corporate campaigns for a global investment bank and several private equity groups.

In addition to his business experience, Robert was an officer and attorney in the 82nd Airborne Division, and the 470th Military Intelligence Brigade in the U.S. Army. He has served as the chief legal advisor for intelligence and counter-intelligence operations throughout Latin America, the chief legal advisor to the commander of combat operations in Fallujah, Iraq, and as a military prosecutor.

Robert earned his B.A. from Wake Forest University in North Carolina, and both his J.D. and his Master of Public Affairs from The University of Texas in Austin, where he was a Presidential Scholar.
